Modern Slavery Statement

1. Introduction

Culture Academy was founded in 2026 in Manchester. We are a new organisation preparing to launch our online learning services. Our purpose is simple: we want to make learning safe, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.

We have a zero‑tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all colleagues, directors, contractors, suppliers, and partners.

We are committed to acting with integrity, being transparent, and making sure our business and supply chains are free from exploitation. Even though we are below the threshold required for a full policy, we publish this statement voluntarily, in line with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

2. Our Structure and Supply Chains

Culture Academy is a remote‑first, employee‑owned organisation based in Manchester. We prioritise working with local businesses and UK‑based suppliers wherever possible.

Because we deliver e‑learning, our supply chain is small and considered low‑risk. It mainly covers professional services, IT infrastructure, digital tools, and marketing support. We carefully select suppliers and make sure contracts include safeguards around ethical and sustainable practices.

3. Our Policies and Due Diligence

We are building strong foundations from the start:

• Human Rights & Ethics: Forced labour and exploitation are never acceptable.

• Whistleblowing: Colleagues can raise concerns safely and without fear.

• Colleague Handbook: Sets out the standards of behaviour and integrity we expect.

• Accessibility Policy: Ensures our training is designed with disabled learners in mind.

• Sustainability Policy: Guides our approach to responsible business and reducing our impact.

Due diligence measures include:

• Vetting suppliers and communicating our expectations clearly.

• Including contractual requirements for compliance with all relevant laws, including those on modern slavery and human trafficking.

4. Risk Assessment and Management

Our risk is low because we operate mainly in the UK, but we remain vigilant. If we identified a risk in a supplier, we would not move forward until reassurances were in place.

5. Awareness and Training

We want colleagues to understand the risks of modern slavery and how to spot warning signs.

• We share our stance through our intranet and colleague handbook.

• We make sure colleagues know how to raise concerns safely.

• We provide extra support and training for those in procurement and HR.

6. Looking Ahead

We are at the beginning of our journey. Over the next year we plan to:

• Strengthen our due diligence processes.

• Map our supply chain in more detail.

• Expand awareness training for colleagues.

• Carry out an annual review of this statement.
